Description:We develop laser speckle contrast imaging and the imaging of intrinsic optical signals in a single portable instrument to cerebral blood flow and metabolism in rats and mice. We study stroke patho-physiology using these small animal imaging methods developed in our group. We work with biologists and neurologists who are interested in the development of brain injury following ischemic stroke, neuro-protection, cerebral autoregulation and functional plasticity.This project is in collaboration with Dr Anna Planas group at Instituto de Investigaciones Biomedicas de Barcelona (IIBB-CSIC).
