Dr. Durduran will boost ICFO’s medical photonics program sponsored by the Cellex Foundation.
A new junior Group Leader, Dr. Turgut Durduran, joins ICFO to boost the Biomedical Photonics program. His research activities, generously endowed by the Cellex Foundation, will be aimed at developing new techniques with direct applications in the clinical and pre-clinical research setting. His program will involve physicists, engineers, physiologists and general practitioners. Turgut’s laboratory, in addition to its key role in the ICFO bio-photonics program, will provide resources and expertise to address novel problems in neurology, neuroscience, oncology, cardiology, pediatrics and geriatrics.
Dr. Turgut Durduran obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. He has an outstanding publication record in international biophotonics journals and has been invited to give talks in many international conferences.
